The dark side
And now I bring the penultimate post featuring new Legion of Super-Heroes cards, focusing on Darkseid's Elite. I'll throw the final lot of cards up later this evening (should be five of them), as well a look at the prizes, and maybe some other stuff.

Previous Legionesque Posts:

Darkseid, Apokoliptian Oppressor
First up, we have what looks to be my very favourite character card in VS. Period. His attack ison the lower side of average for his cost, but his defence is great - there are quite a few cards that cost 5 that don't meet his defence.

But the exciting thing about Darkseid, Apokoliptian Oppressor, however, it his text. If an opponent flips a location or plays a plot twist from his resource row, you draw a card. It can make life great. And there's that little bit where he has the substitute mechanic too, so if you miss him, you can put him into play.

And he's common, which is also awesome.

Darkseid, Nemesis
Yes, another Darkseid. Apparently Legion of Super-Heroes features no less than five versions of him.

The ability is a powerful one, where you can stun a character of yours to remove another one from the game. The exciting part of this, though, is the cost of "Stun a ready, non-defending character you control" - which left me wondering whether we'll get a card like the following...

Ancient Throne
I'll jump across to the activate ability here: cards named Darkseid are non-unique this turn. Unless you want to exhaust Ancient Throne for a different card's ability, this is no cost whatsoever. This works beautifully with Darkseid, Nemesis, as you don't need to remove him from the game, just another version of Darkseid.

Coming back to this card's first ability, it works beautifully with the old Darkseid's Elite tradition of screwing your opponents and their resources over. This first ability works beautifully with Darkseid, Apokoliptian Oppressor, where you draw a card every time your opponent flips a location or a plot twist. This allows you to discard a card every time, to screw over their resources, or help your own. If you have both in play, it's go something like this:
  1. Opponent flips a location or a plot twist
  2. You draw a card
  3. You discard a card
  4. Turn a resource face down
Darkseid's Elite is looking like being full of wacky shenanigans!
