Final (not fatal) five
|
And here we are, with my thoughts on the final five previews from Legion of Super-Heroes. With the sneak previews this weekend (everywhere but Australia, dammit), this will be the end of them, though I'll also wrap up these posts with some pics of the prizes and anything else I may find tomorrow night.
Previous Legion rants:
Steely Resolve
And here we have my least favourite card previewed. +3 defence can come in very handy in the game, but it's threshold cost of 6 is just ridiculous, especially since Armageddon gives +6 attack for the same cost, and Savage Beatdown gives +5 attack at a cost of 4.
Take into consideration that this card is rare, and it seems pretty fucking ridiculous.
Vic Stone <> Cyborg 2.0, Titans Tomorrow East
This card has potential, depending on how much Cosmic is incorporated into Teen Titans. On the definite positive side, though, is these characters just need to have the ability, and not the counter.
So, what does he give? A free stun on a character with a cost of 3 or less, which can come in handy against rush decks, or annoying characters.
Clash of the Titans
The artwork on this card features the Teen Titans facing off against their evil future selves. Cyborg vs Cyborg is a mistake, but I find it quite amusing that Robin's future self is the George Clooney Batman from Batman & Robin!
As for the card itself, it's a nice attack pump for cosmic characters. It's threshold cost is only 2, which is far better than Steely Resolve (above), and it also replaces a cosmic counter. A nice, simple, effective card.
Terror Incognita
Much of the Legionnaires team is about removing cosmic counters from your characters, and this card works with that.
As a simple endurance burn, it can be quite annoying to your opponent, though the alternate win condition is nasty, as it strips your opponent's chance of winning. As soon as they hit 0, they lose.
